Hope everyone had a great holiday and hope the new year brings you more happiness than you deserve.  We had a record turnout for Santa this year.  While this number might not compare to 40 years ago when our membership was in the thousands, our membership today is 380 Legion, 230 SAL, and 200 Auxiliary.  Our success depends on a strong membership!

It’s no longer a rumor:  The Canteen will officially be nonsmoking beginning February 1, 2025.  We are building a dedicated room where smoking will be permitted utilizing robust and perhaps over-kill ventilation.  In addition, we are planning an outside area on the North side of the building which has been requested by many current members.  Smokers will have options.

Planning for parking lot improvements is underway.  We have been working with the city, DVG engineering, and a number of public and private foundations in order to get a significant portion of this project paid for.  The current plan will double the number of parking spaces and improve the safety of our visitors entering and exiting the parking lot.

We are evaluating a number of options relating to the ball field and various youth sports programs.  While nothing has been decided at this point, there is work in process and updates are provided at monthly meetings for those interested in knowing more or getting involved, please come out to our meetings and at some level.
